Our Aussie Experience - Melbourne CBD

Our Aussie Experiences > Melbourne CBD

Day 3 - it was the first day we entered the city. From Mooroolbark to Melbourne CBD, it takes about 45 minutes by car. Since we were really tired from our journey to GOR, we decided to leave home by 11am.

As usual, I made breakfast for my family and packed some food for our day out in the city centre.

First stop when we reached the city was at the carpark.  Everyone knows that parking in the city is really expensive. Before we left Malaysia, my husband already researched alternative places for parking our car. There are some apps and/or websites that help you search for parking spaces in and/or nearby the city with affordable rate per day. There is one app called Parkinghound in which we can rent a private owner's parking space for a day or a number of days based on an agreement with the owner. The parking charged is usually calculated based on per day, for example, AUD6.80/day. But, you have to pay for a security deposit for the access key, using your credit card.

We parked our car here - it is a well-kept parking lot and secure. We rented the paking space for 3 days. The rate is AUD6.80/day but we need to pay for security deposit AUD120 first. The depoist is refundable.

Queen Victoria Market - a must-go place if you are in Melbourne CBD. This is the place where we can buy souvenirs at cheap prices. You should go there early in the morning because they usually close at 2pm.

Another attraction in the city is Australian Centre for Moving Images (ACMI)
